He started SimonIT in January 2026 because he saw a specific opening. AI is good enough now to handle the boring parts of running a contractor business — answering the phone, keeping a website current, getting jobs into a system — but most of what's pitched at small shops is either built for enterprises or built to replace tradespeople. Simon doesn't believe AI is going to take these jobs, and he doesn't want it to. He wants it to give one-truck operators the same operational front office a 50-person company takes for granted.
